Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a quiet area of Montreal Island called West Island. The West Island has a lot of diverse communities. Many who've never known about it may mistake it for an island that is west-facing. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island. But it's not the case. Brugel lived in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. Her initial ambition was to pursue a career as an actress However, following a dramatic growth spurt her partners weren't able to dance along with her. In an article published by Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as 6 feet 1 inches tall. Once I was bigger than the size of my male companion, I stopped. A lot of former dancers go on to acting, and in the case of Brugel, it was a nudge from a high school drama teacher who encouraged her to go in that direction. She was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to go to York University's Theatre Program, where she graduated from the program in 2000, earning a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. Through the years that followed, Brugel has been offered roles in more than 60 productions across the big and small screens, attracting the greatest media attention after she was offered the character of Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of moments in the very first season of the series The Handmaid's tale. She was the only Canadian actor.
